Both of these pieces are based on a group of chameleons in the group (genus) known as Brookesia. These are all small chameleons the smallest of which, Brookesia minima, is the smallest known chameleon in the world reaching a maximum of 4 inches. Madagascar is the home of all species of Brookesia as well as many other unique types of chameleons.
