Housewren is an artist's cooperative dedicated to raising awareness and funding for selected conservation efforts around the world. I participate in this effort by contributing specially-created pieces of my work for sale. House Wren is currently raising funds for two projects: the Great Gull Island Project and the La Florida Cloud Forest Reserve in Ecuador. La Florida is a cloud forest reserve in Ecuador:  one of the last remaining areas of intact moist forest making up the Choco ecosystem. The Choco is a special type of cloud forest found only in northwestern South America and is one of the most diverse on the face of the earth. It is home to many endangered species and is the winter home of migratory birds such as the Blackburnian Warbler. One of the most striking birds in this ecosystem is the cock of the rock.

The Great Gull Island project in Long Island Sound is home to the largest tern colony in the Western Hemisphere. Among the species found there are the endangered Roseate Tern and the Common Tern, threatened in New York State. The project provides protection for the birds and supports research to further our understanding of their needs. The pin is of a common tern.
